Soup Kitchen Sunday 19th April

This Sunday, we decided to try a different food from our regular menu of hamburgers and hot dogs. Since the weather is cooling down, Elizabeth made an awesome beef bone soup from the grass-fed & finished beef bones we get from the cow-share carcasses we buy. This is going to be the plan, probably once a month, over the winter period.

The soup went down well with the buttered sourdough toast but the bottleneck in the assembly line was the toaster. We just have a $10, K-mart, 2-slice type. We may need to look at a new toaster for the next time we do Soup Kitchen Sunday… or at least a second one.

We were blessed that God held back the torrential Sydney rains until Monday. This gave us the chance to enjoy our first, sunny-then-cloudy-then-sunny-then-cloudy-again, outdoor lunch. The clouds loomed overhead but held up until we had eaten and moved inside to fold more gospel tracts.

It was not a good idea to leave the gazebo up until after we came back from soulwinning… Whilst we were out, the winds had picked up, along with the gazebo! It blew onto the fence and ripped the cover slightly… hopefully it’s fixable.

It was a day of fellowship, food, folding and fruit.
