There is a public, pro-marriage march that is happening next weekend on Saturday the 9th of September, just prior to the upcoming postal vote on marriage. The meeting time is 1:00 PM and the location is Hyde Park in the Sydney CBD, near the corner of Park and Elizabeth Street.
You can find out more detailed information on their website:
This march was not organised by our church, but I will be attending with my family, and I will also be strongly encouraging my church members to come and be a part of it.
God’s original purpose for marriage was to help keep a society physically clean, morally pure and provide the ideal environment to raise the next generation with those same virtues. Over the last few decades we have seen the relentless attack on the institution of marriage in our country. And sadly, even though in this specific instance, we are only debating over the nomenclature of the word “marriage”, we need to reverse the trend that previous generations have failed to stop, not encourage it forward, no matter how small the practical difference may be to our current situation.
If the law recognises “marriage” to be anything other than the life-long union of one man and one woman, it will only further degrade its significance and will further promote the moral decline in our society that we can now see, all around us. So cancel any other plans you had on the day and start getting your signs together. You can share this post or the March for Marriage website to help get the word out.
Again, the march is next weekend on Saturday the 9th of September. The meeting time is 1pm at Hyde Park in the Sydney CBD, near the corner of Park and Elizabeth Street. I hope you come and show your support for this extremely important issue.
I will be voting NO to the redefinition of marriage, and encouraging others to do the same.
