If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you would be in heaven?
Many people are unsure whether or not they will be “good enough” to go to heaven when they die. They think to themselves,
“I’ve done good in my life, but I’ve also done bad, I’m not sure how I will measure up before God…”
The truth is, none of us are perfect, and if we had to get to heaven by how good we were, then it would be impossible. So how can you be 100% certain that you will end up in heaven?

We have all sinned by breaking God’s laws
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Revelation 21:27a And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie:
Many people believe they will be good enough to get to heaven, but the truth is we all come short of perfection. No one is good enough to get to heaven by their own goodness.
God must punish sin
Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death;
Revelation 21:8b all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Just as there are rewards for doing right, there is punishment for doing wrong. Our sins are so great in the eyes of God that his punishment is eternal torment in a lake of fire called, hell.
Jesus Christ took your punishment for you
1 Corinthians 15:3b-4 Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God became a man, named Jesus, who was born of a virgin. He was crucified on a cross, his body buried and his soul suffered in hell for the sins of all mankind. Three days later he overcame death and proved his deity by resurrecting himself from the dead.
Believe and receive the free gift of eternal life
Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast
Many people know what Jesus has done for them but they are still trusting their own goodness to get to heaven. Knowing you are saved forever is as simple as accepting a free gift. Jesus Christ has already paid the price in full by his own blood!
Romans 6:23b the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
If you call upon the Lord Jesus Christ you will be saved forever. God cannot lie and this is his unchanging promise to anyone who asks him.
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Being saved is a one time event. Once Jesus Christ has given you eternal life it can never be lost for any reason.
A simple prayer may sound like this,
“Dear Jesus, I know I’m a sinner. I know I deserve hell. But I believe you died for my sins, and rose again. I trust you alone to save me from hell. Please give me your free gift of eternal life. Amen.”
Now you can know 100% for sure that you will be in heaven if you died today. Not because you are “good enough” but because a perfect and unchangeable God has promised and provided it for you. Welcome to the family of God!
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
