1st Anniversary Sunday | Photos & Videos

This video was a slideshow I put together just of photos from the year gone by to show the church on this Sunday. The two songs I used are two of my favourites (lyrics below):

Walking Through The Flames
(Words and Music by Jeanine Drylie)
(Performed by The Wilds)

Many years ago In a time of woe three young men faced a bitter test.
For the king decreed that they not be freed, but instead he had bound them fast
Because they would not bow the knee except to God on high.
Into the flames with great disdain, these men were thrown to die

CHORUS
But who would have thought that the flames would set them free?
And who would have thought that they’d gain the victory?
When with God our lot we cast,
We’ll have more than we could ask.
We’ll go walking through the flames with the Son of God.

When this evil king had performed this thing, he sat down upon his throne.
But when he took yet the second look he cried out with astonished tone,
“Did we not cast into the fire a group that numbered three?
Now they’re walking ’round as though unbound with a fourth like Deity!”

CHORUS

God has made it known to His very own tribulations they must bear.
For this world is not any friend to God. In His cross we have a share.
But when the hour of trial comes and fire is all around,
We’ll find the place we’re walking on is really holy ground.

Then praise be to God that the flames will set us free
And praise be to God, we shall gain the victory.
When with God our lot we cast,
We’ll have more than we could ask.
We’ll go walking through the flames with the Son of God.

When with God our lot we cast,
We’ll have more than we could ask.
We’ll go walking, walking, walking through the flames with the Son of God.
With the Son of God!

Make My Life An Alleluia
(Words by Ruth Elaine Schram)
(Performed by SoundForth)

Make my life an alleluia, a song of praise to You each day.
To proclaim Your grace and glory, fill my heart with Your praise, I pray.
When I stand at the mountaintop, or the valley of despair,
This will be my cry, my song, my prayer:
Lord, make my life an alleluia.

Make my life an alleluia, a gift of love to You, my King.
I will join with all creation in the song that the heavens sing!
The earth will turn, and the planets spin, as the seasons ebb and flow;
Still, Your grace surrounds me as I go,
Lord make my life an alleluia.

Make my life an alleluia, this off’ring of myself I give
I will share Your grace and mercy for as long as I shall live.
When I come to my journey’s end, may those left behind be reminded,
This has been my cry, my song, my prayer:
Lord, make my life an alleluia.

Here are some videos and photos taken on the day. It was great fun breaking the Golden Calf pinata! We had a total of 40 in attendance in the morning, 46 in total if you include the family that joined us later in the afternoon. This is the largest gathering of people we have had so far in the house.

Thank you to all who helped make the day a success and thank you to the church for your encouragement, work and support throughout this first year.

Onward and upward!
